A. Jeevan Madhur/Jeevan Mangal
Jeevan Madhur is a micro insurance scheme launched by CHASS in collaboration with the Life Insurance Corporation of India in April 2008. This scheme is mainly intended to help the low income families to meet the education/marriage expense of their children. The insured can affect monthly premium and is eligible to get the deposited amount with earned. The duration of the program is 10 to 15 years. CHASS deployed about 123 community organizers to collect the monthly premium from the partner. “Jeevan Mangal” – the micro insurance product CHASS implemented in collaboration with LIC of India is customized to cater to the distinct needs of the most vulnerable low income sections of Indian population. According to this scheme, as death benefit the sum assured under the basic plan is payable, provided the policy is kept in force. On the date of maturity, an amount equal to the total amount of premium paid during the term of the contract excluding the accident benefit premium and all extra premium, if any, is payable ,provided the policy is kept in force. So far we have 20805members were enrolled in both schemes.
B. Aam Athmi Bhima Yojana (AABY)
AABY is another insurance scheme operated by CHASS in collaboration with Central Government and Life Insurance Corporation of India. This is a group insurance scheme, with one year duration and can be renewed each year for continuation. Yearly premium per person is Rs.200/- Among the total policy premium, half of the amount paid by the policy holder and 50% of the amount is contributed by Government of India. In addition to the life coverage the policy offers special scholarship to the school going children from the STD IX, X, XI, XII of the policy holders. So far we were able to enroll 13845 members into the scheme and distributed Rs.7, 86,000 as scholarship and Rs. 14, 75,000as death benefit.
C. Life Care Health Insurance Schemes
Life care Health Insurance, a health insurance program implemented by CHASS in collaboration with United India Insurance Company. 465 people into this scheme and availed Rs. 668062 as claim.
D. Universal Health Insurance Program
This is a health insurance program specially designed for the lower middle class and BPL families in collaboration with New India Assurance Company. This year 158 families joined in this scheme out of which 72 families availed claim to the tune of Rs. 483500.
